Does anyone know why it is recommended only to use 4x4 diff. lock in low gear. Does anyone here use it in high gear and if so does it go in without any problems. I have an 04' sportsman 500 and I don't particlularly like its 4x4 or downhill braking. How is the king at downhill? I've heard the steering can be finicky at times. I Appreciate any feedback on these topics.

It will go in and can be used in 4wd locked frt diff- but the speed limit, where you have to use the override, is lower in high range. I believe the limiter restricts wheel spin to like 10 MPH in high and it is limited to 25mph in low.... Dont hold me to these numbers I seem to remember them....

The engine braking seems to be OK on my KQ. Have not been able to compare it to anything except a Outlander 400 and it is probably a little bit below the outlander IMO on engine braking. But I did not spend a bunch of time comparing that aspect of the performance.

Thanks Marsh. So if in high and hit the diff. lock the override will have to be used if going over 10 mph?
