Default King Quad Steering

Some articles mention the King having trouble with steering going downhill on rough terrain. Also problems with quick turn in upon turning while breaking. Anyone have this type of trouble or others with steering?

It's all the operator. I have had the King in a lot of tricky spots with no problems. You have to know how to handle the machine. I was in tall grass on a steep downgrade and hit a bucket with my back right rear wheel. Yeah it got a little tipsy but it didn't flip or roll over. I'm sure if I was going 50 MPH down hill yeah it would have ended up on my head. But you have to treat them with respect. I have ridden several artic cats and they really get tipsy even at low speeds.

There are several Kings in the group I ride with. Their comment on the steering is light. Meaning hitting a rock or an object it wants to jerk the handlebars moreso than other brands. But very high remarks on this machine
Just like any machine, you get used to what you have.

Everyone has there opinions, but mine is that the the KQ does have a steering quark. If you add after market tires it becomes more noticeable. I put a stabilizer on mine and it is alot better. I do run 12" wide Tri Claws on the front most of the time though so I know that would make any atv jerk the bars on trail rides. When I run my MudLites with the stabilizer the handling is great. I read a few different atv forums and it is about half the people feel like the steering could use some improvement and half don't. I do know that my old Vinson has alot more stable feeling steering compared to the KQ.

Hoosiervinson thankyou for your thoughts. Could tell me what kind of stablilizer bar. How bad does the handlebar jerk especially going downhill on rough stuff. Is it a big concern. What is it like with stock tires?

Yep, engine braking is good and I even have added a clutch kit. I usually have to give the quad a little gas when going down a big hill in 4wd low, if not I'll be going to slow.
