Need help with 85-87 Lt230 quadrunner
I was rideing it the other day and i stoped to let my buddie jump on it and when he went to start it, it had no compression and i alrdy looked at the Piston in it and it had no holes and it was still moveing up and down..so What do you think...(its a kick start) What should i look at? Have anyone ever had this problem with this type of quad?

If it's a kickstart, then you have a quadsport (not a quadrunner). These quads have a compression release (the little lever on the handlebars) to help with starting. My first thought is to check the spring that pulls the compression release cam back into its normal position. If this spring is really dirty or broken, it may not be pulling your compression release cam back into normal position causing your valves to remain open. This would be a very easy to fix and inexpensive problem. Try moving the cam with your hand. Hopefully this is your problem. If not, then it's a more serious problem like your piston or rings. Good luck.
