Someone hinted at it in another post, has anyone seen CV boot guards for the rear axles on the KQ. Or, are they really that susceptible to tearing? We have been doing some trail blazing the past few weeks and I've been a bit curious.

Well, I've been looking at that too. I made a set for the front out of black ABS plastic, from a length of drain pipe. The problem with the rear CV joints is that they sit between the two bars of the swing arm, and drop down in line with them. Perhaps a peice of 4" pipe, cut in half lengthways would provide good enough coverage. With a large enough diameter pipe, the CV joint could sit right inside the pipe. I'll have to take a closer look over the weekend.

I've got 2500kms on my 95 kq and we ride through some real bad trails that most just drive by and I've never torn a boot yet. Just my 2 cents. Btw boots are only $30 canadian so its not the end of the world if you do.
