Default z400 power gains

I was wandering if it is possible to get any serious power gains without an exhaust. If i put a uni filter on with no lid and rejet, will i see a noticible power gain? The reason i was asking is because an exhaust would be too loud in my area. Or do they make an aftermarket exhaust the same decibel level as stock?

This engine loves to breathe, and anything you can do to increase airflow, is going to net big improvements. Take a good look at the FMF Q2 for a quiet performance muffler (https://www.fmfracing.com/products/c...CategoryID=126). I would go with a PowerBomb header, Q2 muffler, Pro Design foam filter (http://www.prodesignracing.com/main.htm), and an EHS Racing airbox lid (http://www.ehsracing.com/). And of course a rejet.

There was a topic about the best pipe for KFX/Z and then someone posted an article about it and on one of the pages it showed the gain of hp with the aibox lid off and it was pretty impressive so that should help a bit

Yes it is a noticible gain. This was the first mod I did, woke the Z up quite a bit. I used a 150 mikuni mainjet.

even with no pipe? And i saw an endcap for the stock exhaust made by phoenix, they claim the same horsepower gains as with a slip on exhaust, has anyone tried these endcaps?

Yes, wuth the stock pipe. Still gives you a nice gain. The endcap would be the same as removing your stock endcap/spark arrester. It just looks better.
