Someone I know who owns a sportsman 700 thinks that it's faster than the king quad in a drag race. I haven't found a head to head comparison in a magazine to confirm or deny it.

I drove a king quad before and thought it was super fast. It's really a great machine. I personally think the king quad is much faster than a sportsman 700 since I have driven both.

Has anyone who owns a king quad drag raced a sportsman 700 efi?

i drag raced a 02 650 praire with my 700 efi and whopped him pretty good. the king quad and sportsman would be close but i think the twin would come out on top.

 

How much does the Sportsman weigh?

 

The SP weighs between 720-765lbs, depending on what year 700efi he owns. Just by looking at the weight difference between the two, I would have to think the King Quad would be much faster.

 

With equal rider skill, it would most certainly have to be the KingQuad.

 

Hands down....K.Q. A friend of mine just bought the new sportsman 800 EFI. It rides VERY nice...BUT, the K.Q. has much more torquey punch. I was suprised by how much more "punch" the K.Q. had over the new Polaris. Also, I raced a Polaris 500 with my Vinson...no competition...the vinson....................................smoked it.

 

One of the mags did a drag race shootout with all of the big bores and it went, BF 750, sp 800, king quad, and I believe the sp 700 was next but im not positive, grizz then honda. The bomb 800 wasnt out for testing. Ill try and find the issue where they did this.

LoL, the KQ MAY be faster than the 700 EFI, but against the 800EFI, there is absolutely no comparison. In every shootout in which both quads were in, or if u look head to head (with equal rider skill) the 800 EFI smoked them all. The 800EFI may weigh alot more, but its that American ingenuity parallel twin engine thats just overall quicker than the KQ. Whats the Vinsons top speed?
