New piston rings
#1
My 500 is getting a bit harder to start when it gets warm.
I can get it to start real easy when its cold, but after you ride it for a while its hard to get it running without popping the clutch which i dont like to do that much. I cant rember what the compression was , i think it was 120 or 130. Do you think i could get away with honing the cylinder ( if there arent any gouges ) and putting new rings on the old piston?

Don't see why not. Be sure to get some good crosshatching with the hone. Also would be good to mic the cylinder to see where you are in wear. Heck you could probably even reuse the gaskets if you wanted.
Good Luck,
