Default Water Wetter

Has anyone used this? I have a 05 King Quad and I notice on very hot days my fan runs alot. I read if you use about 2 to 3 oz in your rad it will help keep cooler.

Anythoughts will be great.

I haven't used the water wetter but I do use Engine Ice in my Husaberg. These are known for running hot & I have used the Engine Ice since it was new w/o any problems including build up in the water jacket, on the water pump impellor etc.

It runs about $15-16 a half gallon and is used w/o the addition of any water, so you would need to flush your cooling system before trying it.

I use it in both my quads and truck and have noticed a big difference. You need to drain all the coolant and run it with distilled water and it will run much cooler.

I use it in all my machines, both off-road and street.

Nice demo on Redlines site of the principle of how it works (removes air from the coolant): http://www.redlineoil.com/products_coolant.asp

Actually, for maximum cooling, you can do what 500zuki suggests (just pure water and some water wetter), but BE ABSOLUTELY SURE TO REPLACE IT WITH ANIT-FREEZE COOLANT BEFORE THE COLD WEATHER RESUMES, or you will be in for a rude surprise. Water wetter is NOT a replacement for antifreeze!

If you ride in the warm southwest desert like I do (where it only freezes once every ten years), we can get away with it year round if you are very very carefull.

Ok.

Thanks for the info. I thought I could just take out some antifreez and just add a little to the system.

Midget-We may have confused you. For the average recreational rider, just add the recommended amount of water wetter to your antifreeze/coolant.

Running water wetter in water, is just for those who want the maximum possible cooling that is obtainable. That's just for racers and guys like me who ride in the desert.

No doubt it changes the freeze point slightly, but I doubt it makes any practical difference at the temperatures in the lower 48 states.

Changing your coolant temp also messes with the O2 sensor? The King is fuel injected. Most fuel injected vehicles like a hotter engine?
