Default choke on the z250

this is a dumb question but since this is my first quad and i am having problems with it, which way is the choke on the z250 engaged or open? is it up for open and down for close? i read my manual and it just shows a picture and that's it. On my dirt bike the choke is up for open and down to close. Since the choke is on the left handle bar on the quad does this same method still apply to the z250? up for open and down for close? Anyway, i tried to start the quad with the choke on or off and the thing still does not start. It just will not turn over. any suggestions?

You say it wont turn over...does that mean the starter isnt working...or are you saying it will spin with the starter, but it wont start?
If the battery is good, then id try to bump start it. Have someone hook up a tow strap, turn the key on, put it in 4th,and pull the quad at about 7 mph. Whether or not the choke is working, wont matter, itll start , if the compression is good, and you have gas.
Yep, rotated full up is off.

there is no off position for the fuel. make sure you have gas in it. also i didnt think you could bump start it but if you can then try it.
