Default choke on the z250

hey thanks everyone for the advice. i took it back to the dealer and sure enough he fired the quad right up. he said i did not have enough gas in it. my dad put gas in it but apparently not enough. i filled the tank up and no problems. i noticed that when i first got the z it fired up without having to deal with the choke. i left the choke off and it started but now i have to turn on the choke and give it some gas or it will not start. is this something a new quad goes through? I have to turn the choke on with my dirt bike and give it gas or it will not start but my dirt bike is used. New or used, does every machine have to deal with the choke all the time when you start it?
