get the Z400 its just an upgraded ex and the best slip-on i think is the HMF or Yoshi, air filter, take the airbox lid off, and for top speed +1 tooth front sprocket, and for accel -1 tooth front sprocket

the z400 is the better atv all around. So get that and get you a pipe, air filter and take the airbox lid off,and rejet. That will gain you a few more hp.You'll love it.But the 400ex isn't bad either it will do everything you want to do great,so either one is a great choice.

Buy the z and buy it from troy city garage in ny. Here's thier link I just bought one from them. They're actually cheaper than the ex there too. They carry everything. When you contact them ask for Jim, he's who I dealt with and he was great. If you prefer to call them their #(518) 279-1781 Jim's ext. is 15

hey clover
that track is sweet!..Id love to ride on that..we have some good tracks around here but there kind of small and the jumps are really small that you clear with predator 90's if they are all pimped out. But yeah I just had to tell you that you are some lucky to have a track around there like that. O yah nice KFX..I love my Z too

I drove 3 hours, saved $800.00 and only spent $50 on fuel. I drove my brother's v6 tacoma. If saving $750.00 for 6 hours (round trip) is worth it to you then do it. I know I charge myself out @ $50/hr on t&m so $125/hr is pretty good.

I prefer the EX for tighter, slower trails, because it's engine doesn't mind being lugged down and ridden slowly. I pick the Z for everything else.
