Default Carb Bowl Screws / 04 Eiger

About 5 months ago, I tried to take the screws out of the carb on my Eiger and I got all but 2 out and ended up stripping the heads out...So now i have to dremel the heads and make slot heads out of them...I am wanting to put hex heads back in but i was wondering if anyone has any specifics on the sizes of those bolts...Id like to pick them up on the way home from work today...Got a long weekend comming up and im aobut 15 to 20 mins away from the hardware store at home...the way gas prices are, i dont want to make any unnecessary trips if i can help it...

Thanks..

Howdy WVeiger,

Fraid I can't give you any feed back on the bolts but wanted to know how you liked your eiger? I've heard they have alot of bang for the buck. I'am sort a thinking about getting one. I'd appreciate any comments.

I love my eiger...Have had a few minor problems, but they are all my fault...I have a terrible time keeping water from getting in my air box...I had to silicone the lid shut...Water was getting in there and going through the air filter and getting in the carb and stalling me out every once in a while...Took me forever to find the cause of that problem...

I think i paid around 4000 or 4100 for mine a year ago...For the money its the best out there...Have only been stuck a few times...and those times i was riding with guys on 700 kawi's with 26" mudlites on and they even got stuck...so i wasnt too upset...

Be sure to get the winch if they offer it for 69$....WELL worth the investment..

Try this.... take ur carb, take a hack saw bladw and make slits in the screw heads. then try to use a huge flat head screwdriver. make sure its big though. and then if that doesnt work, use the dremel.

I stripped my bowl screws once before as well , the only way I got them out is taking a small pair of vise-grips and locking them around the screw head horizontally and put a little presure on the screw (lefty loosey) lol and it should crack loose no problem.... Let me know if that works..:0)

Edit:: oops I didnt read the whole question, but if you take those stock screws to a specialzed hardware store Im sure they can come up with hex screws no problem, I also did that same thing and had tons of hex headed screws but sold them all a few weeks ago.... Good luck

WVeiger,

That's good news ! I was looking into getting a Foreman but now its looking too expensive especially when you think about options. Actually, the Eiger impressed me the first time I sat on one. I don't know,,,, they seem functional with their higher ground clearence, simplisticly designed (not too many bells and whistles) yet very affordable. I just hope they keep making them for a while. Much obliged WV. Have a good one.

the reason i wanted to dremel the heads is i really didnt want to take the carb all the way out....it looks like i am gonna have to though... the 2 that stripped were the ones in the back where i really couldnt get too...Im not too comfortable takin the carb off...Its kinda tight in there, and i think it would be a pain to get it back in...
