King Quad "Future"

There is no doubt in my mind that the 700 King Quad is an awesome quad but for me what I'd like to see is a King Quad 500 EFI. Now this 500 would have to have all the features of the 700 but with the 500 EFI engine. I don't need a 700, a 500 is perfect for me and when I go hunting and ride from dawn till dusk and beyond, I don't want to have to stop to fill the quad. The big engines are lots of fun but they are thirsty devils and with the price of gas over $1.00 / Ltr it can get a little expensive.</FONT>

Considering you're looking at a 30% decrease in power, especially torque, to propel what would be about the same weight (I used the Vinson and KQ as a comparison), would gas savings be realized in a amount significant enough to matter? And more important, to attract enough new buyers from competitive 500cc ATV sales without disturbing Vinson or 700cc KQ sales?

Although it may be a good idea, dont expect to find top-of-the-line features like EFI on anything less than the flagship models. They want you to buy their most expensive machines in order to access these kinds of technologies. Any guys, I think he understands that the 500-class machines don't weigh less than the bigger ones, but say a Vinson engine in a KingQuad frame might not make a bad machine. He's just saying that he likes the design, not saying it would be lighter.

I have a 500 HO Polaris Sportsman now and it has enough power for me, with a top speed of 60 mph and decent acceleration. The 500 does like to consume fuel but I can still ride all day without filling up but I am usually heading home on reserve.
I cannot buy a new quad this year but it might be possible next year and even though I love the 700 King Quad a 500 EFI would be adequate for me. EFI is creeping in to the 500 classes, the new Polaris 500 HO is an EFI so there is hope that Suki will develop a 500 EFI too.
Polaris has been very successful with the Sportsman line, basically the same quad but 4 different engine sizes, some carburated and some EFI. Maybe Suki could be just as successful doing something similar.
Just a thought.</FONT>

If Suzuki made an EFI Vinson 500 it wouldn't be much less in price of the KQ since the Vinson is within a few hundred bucks of the KQ already, so there wouldn't be much sense in getting a quad that's 200cc less than another if there's only a couple hundred $ difference IMO.
