Default HELP!! BIG TROUBLE WITH EIGER!!!

last nite while spotlighting with my 03 eiger manual we stopped to take a break and when we went to go again it started and when i put it in gear it seemed like the break was set up. Ten it stalled and wouldnt start i checked and theres no spark. then when we went to tow it the rear wheels were locked up like it was in gear even though the nuetral light was on. This one has really got me stumped. What could possibly make it lose spark and lock up at the same time? Any help will definitly be appreciated

if it doesn't normally start in gear, the neutral light cvould be screwed up and it could really not be in neutral, because without start in gear thre wouldn't be any spark.

You probably already tried this, but have you tried starting it with the brake lever on? It does sound like the neutral light is somehow getting the wrong information, since the Eiger can start in gear with the brake on, this would at least troubleshoot that area.

Thats a tough one

is sometghing stuck in the brake lever at the drum? does it move? is the kill switch "on"? Any broken wires? How bout a u-joint? (I know that doesn't affect spark ) Hi/lo shifter firmly in a gear? Shift lever in neutral?

When ya get an answer, Let us all know.

Good luck

Default HELP!! BIG TROUBLE WITH EIGER!!!

Well I found the trouble and it isnt good. after a few hours of pokin and prodin i finally decided it had to be somthing if the magneto so i tore it apart to find that 2 of the big magnets on the rotor came unglued from the housing dicintergrating one of them completley. called the dealership and the part costs $350.00 and then im lookin at anouther $40.00 an hour to get it put back together. Theres no way im even gonna attempt doing it myself on the account of all the gears ,shafts and springs in there. Really bites too cuz archery season starts in a week

Do some checking. It seems to me that I've read about that happening before.

Default HELP!! BIG TROUBLE WITH EIGER!!!

Welll i got an estamate yesterday from the dealer to get it fixed and it isnt good. $972.00 is got the rotor, stator, and wiped out several bearings. I talked to the mechanic and he told me its the first eiger hes had apart. said they only come in for service and crash work. I wonder if this isn't somthing well be seeing more of when these eigers get around 4,000mi on em or if its just my "good" luck again.
