Default 1985 LT 250 questions

A friend of mine has a 1985 LT 250 that is in pretty good shape considering its age. Recently he has had some issues with it and I am trying to help him out with it. Before I do anything else I was hoping to give it a thorough tune up first. Can anyone tell me how much oil the engine holds and what the valve clearance is? Also, if anybody knows the stock jetting that would be super helpful too.

Thanks.

One other thing to mention is this is the 4 stroke utility quad... not the racer.

My 88 quadrunner holds 3.5 quarts, the oil lubricates the engine and rear differential. I don't know about the other stuff, but I did buy a manual off of ebay yesterday, so hopefully will have it soon.

Wow, that's a lot of oil! Thanks for the info. I am going to tell him to buy a manual for it soon. Part of the reason I did not have him buy one yet is because I am trying to make sure the ATV is worth putting any money into. Oil is pouring out the valve covers at higher RPM and I think that is because he over filled it. But, I want to make sure that is the problem first before I even have him buy a manual.
