Another advantage is when "side hilling". I know of several instances where side hilling in a IRS would have tipped the machine over. I had something interesting happen last week. I was selling this 03 Kodiak. A guy came over to look at it. The first thing he said is "is it a straight axle?" I said yes. He said "good, because where we hunt every year only a straight axle machine can get the animals out because of the incline." IRS has incredible advantages over straights as is verified from some of these posts. However.....in my opinion....the Vinson feels smoother. Once again, I own both so I am able to immediatley judge the two.

Pastor I hate to call you on this but you asked for it. Here are just some of your quotes:

"Quadessence...Here I am again to affirm it loud and clear....2005 King Quad....best ever!"

"Well Actrite....I think you know what I'm gonna say....I think I 've got the ultimate (at least for me).............................K.Q."

"Friend, you are considering the best of the best. Yes, there have been some issues however, go for it. The K.Q. is the smoothest and all around best riding quad available today. You won't be sorry!"

"Outrage...I too loved the feel of the Vinson.....but you are in for a real shock: this bike is better! The K.Q. has taken the whole atv experience a little further down the road. It just is awesome package that does all things well. I know you'll enjoy it."

Pastor, I know you mean well but geeze dude you give me a headache. long live the new overall best utility: the VINSON

Pastor, I too am surprised by your posts on this. I thought you and I were the biggest fans of the King Quad out there. I have ridden a Vinson one time and I don't remember it being as great as the King Quad. What is it that you really like better about the Vinson over the King.

Actrite, I actually still think the K.Q. is the baddest of the bad. Period. My original post was merely to give my 2 cents worth about the ride of the Vinson over the K.Q. After having put over 1,000 miles on the K.Q. this summer, I think I can offer an intelligent opinion. As I stated, and I was in no way dissing the King Quad, I have experienced lower back pain from long rides with the King. I have never experienced that on a Vinson. To me, the Vinsons ride is slightly more plush feeling. Thats it. I am still sold out on the King and am a fan of the Vinson. What is the problem with me making a observation guy's? Kingme...obviously you are intent on entrapping me here...Please read my original post on this thread and remember...I have put over 1,000 miles on my K.Q. this summer. I know just a little bit about these two bikes.

i love my vinson and hate the 05 700 polaris i traded for it, but the difference in ride of the straight alxe and the irs is like daylight and dark. after riding the polaris for 6 months and then climbing on the vinson it was like going from a cadilac to a 4x4 truck. i turned the springs down a notch and it helped my vinson a little but still nothing like the irs ride of polaris. i love my vinny but the irs rides much smother hands down.

Pastor, at least you are still liking Suzuki. I've thought several times about selling my Rubicon and buying a Vinson. I always wonder if I did that would I be sorry I didn't pay the extra and buy the King Quad. I like it that much. I rode with 13 people last weekend and everyone wants to ride the King because it steers so easy and rides so great. I would like to spend some time on a Vinson. I also read all the reviews and the Eiger wins all the 400 shootouts. Suzuki is the best.

Not trying to entrap you, just making an observation. I know you rode the vinson alot before you got the king so was it just lack of time on the king that prompted you to say "the king is the smoothest and all round best riding quad available today."? Im sure you actually believe it rides better, the problem is there is no way a straight axle machine rides a smooth as a irs machine. Do you understand how they both work?
Maybe you just need to go into more detail on why the Vinson is smoother.
I just think your post is missleading to those who are new to the sport. Reading your post, someone with backpain that wants to get into riding would think a straight axle would be best for them when infact the opposite is true.
When you say, I had backpain and no doubt it was due to the independant rear. Well thats just ignorant. People with backpain (myself included) are better off on an IRS machine.

KingMe, perfectly said, thank you! My response way up at the top.....I was truly confused?!? Even more so when Pastor wrote back and said, "Wrong.....about what?"

I thought I was losing my mind. The ONE advantage of the IRS is to soak up the rougher trails than a straight axle. Thanks for helping me and the explanation.

In all honesty, it seems like kingme has a problem understanding my point. As I stated previosly, I still love the K.Q. However, after riding both bikes a ton...I PREFER THE RIDE OF THE VINSON. As I also stated, I was experiencing "slight" back pains after riding the K.Q. Not a slam. But, for me, the truth. I simply like the ride of the Vinson better. Kingme, is it O.K. if I have an opinion? If you don't like what I have to say...go to another thread. I am not looking for an argument...but, you are getting ridiculous.
