I'd do as ^^^^ said. Let is settle for a while before starting.....shut your fuel off before tipping it up.......and expect some fuel to run out. Also....I'm not familar with the z......but on the pred, the crankcase breather will allow oil to drain out if not placed in a different spot. Also......the stock place for the pred breather is in the airbox......which will ruin the filter if transported up......just check it out........

Stand up a Z400?
since i installed my jet kit on my z400 and stand it up it continues to leak. the fuel valve is set to on so it shouldnt leak but it does. it never did before the jet kit. do u have any idea why, or how to fix it. its a pain because everytime i go to stand it up i have to take the powerlid and airfilter off of it so it dosent get gas on it.

I stood my 04 Z up for about 3 days once (had no choice) and gas from the carb leaked into the air box and warped it out of shape, also didn't want to start after that either but after cranking it without the plug in it fired. Oh well it was a good excuse to buy an intake kit. I would avoid it if possible for extended peroids of time. A few hours isn't going to hurt anything though.

The gas is probably leaking out of the carb and not through it. If that's the case, try disconnecting fuel line and the vacume line and run it until all the gas in carb is gone. Or just drain the gas out of the carb. Since you'd have those two lines off anyway, it wouldn't hurt to plug the fuel line with a bolt or something.
