Default modding a z400

i dont know if there are any other posts in here about this but i looked and didnt find anything that could help me. Im starting to race and would like to know how can i make my z400 competitive on the track with all the 450's for pretty cheap.

With my mods in my sig, I run with piped 450's.
Hotcams-$240 at woodwardspecialties.com
DRZe base gasket bumps compression up 1 point- $10
DRZe valvesprings- $10 each
Carb- ~$300
Pipe- ~$500
Air filter- ~$100
DYNA CDI- ~$350 or ~$250 for non-programable version

^^Same here. For racing however what's going to help you the most is suspension. You can only go as fast as your suspension will allow you. Remember it's not about getting to speed, it's about carrying speed.

I think if you want to keep up with the 450"s your going to have to spend some green on it like what was said previous
or trade it in for the LT-R450

mucky beat me to it. Altough, I'm gonna wait until at least the third production year. That's when they perfected the z and the quadracer. Quadracer didn't change as drastically after 88

talked to a dealer here today and they said they wont get them in till dec.
and they have lots of preorders and down payments on them and nobody has seen it yet
I'll stay with mine, its paid for

Get the new issue of dirt wheels. They took a z400 and made a Doug Gust replica.

Suspension is very important. It will let you ride harder for longer and make up for mistakes that you make...
