Default re-jetting

How difficult is it to re-jet a carb? I see people say that they change from one to another quite often. How long does it take? Do you have to remove the carb? Sorry for the newbie question.

It's not too difficult but it really helps to get some good pics or diagrams and to do some searches. That's what I did when I put on my pipe & rejetted my Z. Mainly you want to get all the little tips & tricks that you can and some decent pics or diagrams so that you know what you're looking at. One tip is when you take the four screws to the float bowl off, the stock screws strip easily, especially the first time when you have to "break" it loose. Just use lots of pressure pushing into the screw with a good screwdriver. The first time will take 2-3 times longer. I've done it once and am going to rejet tomorrow. Also, if you only have to change the main jet it is quicker than if you have to change the needle and/or move the clip. Just take it slow the first time and do your homework so you have a good idea what to do.
