250r for so cheap?
Most people want Honda's if their buying a older 2-stroke. Last weekend there was a 92 LT250r in our local paper for $700, from the description it sounded decent, but I never saw the quad. From what I've seen on ebay the quadracers either do not meet the reserve or sell for under $1800.
Right now I got my eye on a stock 86 honda 250R and a 87 honda 250X, checked them out and they are worth $2500 for the pair, but I offered $2200, the guys thinking about it, I'm thinking I can make a little cash off both of them.

250r for so cheap?
I bought my quadracer off ebay. It was actually my second choice, I had an 86 Honda 250r in my watch list completely stock right down to the original tires. I didn't get on my computer soon enough and it ended at $1500!! Actually, both had ended by that time. I contacted the guy with the lt250r 'cause it hadn't sold. His buy it now was $2500 and he said his reserve was $2100. I told him I wasn't looking to spend more than $1500, but if he wanted to meet me halfway I would. So, I got it for $1800. The quad itself was in great shape,no cracks or welds in frame, good brakes, good suspension, I had thought frame and parts had been restored at one point but he said no, and motor was suposedely on first overbore. After I couldn't get it tuned in, I took top end down and it was on it's last bore and sleeve was damaged and it was apparently put together like that because it was a fresh top end with no damage to piston or rings.
So, I spent about another $300 on a used cylinder and piston in stock size and all the gaskets. Now I just need to get it tuned in and send it down the road. The factory sticker kit should make it go way faster.
