i just bought a 88 lt 80 for my son. i noticed that the top end didn't seem all there. i cleaned the carb put it back and same thing. i noticed that on the right side of the carb there are 2 hoses and 3 hose fitting it looks like. one is the fuel, near bottom, one is behinde the needle slide near the top and is run to the fuel valve and one is in front of the slide near top without a hose. Now, when i plug the hose fitting in front of the slide and take off it dies. when im at full throttle and then plug with my finger while at full throttle it revs high like it should. am i missing a hose here and where would it go to? anything that is wrong ? thanks

 

I'am really not sure If I'am understanding you right. But it sound's like the same carb that's on my grandsons Yerf-Dog. If thats the case the 3rd one is A carb over flow. Should just hook A hose to the carb And run the other end toward's the ground. Don't know if that help's you any, but gave it a shot.

 

My boss has a 50 and his was running poorly. Cleaned the exhaust and gave it a new plug because of build-up and now it really rips. Unsure of the hoses just wanted to see if I could help at all.

 

how would i clean out the exhaust pipe? thanks

 

I think that hose fitting on there may be some sort of 2 stroke fuel mixture. For instance an lt80 is a 2 stroke and if its not, im totally wrong but it may have had oil injection and the last guy took it off, now air is getting sucked into that little hose making your mixtures wrong. It may just need to get plugged or it may be to the crankcase breather if it has one which i think it would. the jetting may also need to be fixed, let me know when you find out
