After extensive demographic studies, the brain trust at Suzuki determined that a market existed for a true "sport" utility atv. Armed with this information, the engineering staff devolped a lower, shorter, wider, lighter chasis to hold a new 695 cc dohc 4 valve fuel injected powerplant driving adjustable independent front/rear suspension with features such as a locking front differential to keep the utility crowd happy. Prototype models were developed, and randomly chosen drivers were selected for field trials. An alarming trend was discovered, in that a large percentage of riders were found to have soiled themselves during test runs. Apparantely, the power generated by the new big-bore motor was too much for the less adventurous testers. At this point, it was decided that in the interests of consumer safety (not to mention laundry bills), some major de-tuning of this powerplant was in order. The end result, as we all know, is a nice quad that has been effectively neutered. Thank goodness for aftermarket industries! It wasn't long before Yoshimura arrived on the scene, with a nice powerup package. Composed of exhaust, intake, and engine management modifications, this package restored the kq to its intended purpose. The exhaust is a carbon-fiber "can" with stainless endcap and fittings. Producing a nice rumble at idle, this system produces the kind of wot roar that you would expect from the "King". Complimenting the efficient exhast is a 2 mm larger throttle-body bore, with a nicely tapered throat to allow for plenty of air to feed the beast. Last, but certaintly not least, is a new engine control module. This new brain retains the engine management parameters that allow the dohc lunger to work as it was designed to work. Adding an easy 1k to the rpm band, the ecm also eliminates any restrictions to performance that were previously built-in from the factory. Please note that the aggresive timing curves of this ecm will require the use of 91 octane fuel. Also please be advised that power is now produced instantly upon demand, and "pinning" the throttle can result in a launch to low-earth orbit. The King is Back!, Long Live The King!

Well the best bet there is January. Yoshimura has already announced a fully-programmable ECM that has the ability to adjust fuel and timing curves, so don't get a Dobeck or PowerCommander if you intend to buy this.
