Im looking into getting an exhaust and jet kit, or CDI type performance enhancer for my vinnie, i know alot of people have tried and use such products, give me some info on power gains and dependability. Dont want to add a part that is going to make my vinson need some kinda adjusting every time i ride, so far ive had no problems outa it, and dont want any.

I have a 2004 vinson 5 speed I recently just installed a dynojet stage one kit and a HMF utility series pipe with the quiet core. I am very happy with the results of this as it really woke up my quad and it runs completely different than stock It acts a little more cold natured now but it still starts as soon as you hit the button like it did stock. it will stand straight up in the air through third gear which is pretty impressive for a 600 lb quad anyways if you have any more questions let me know

 

Did the pipe and rejetting effect your fuel mileage much?

 

no not that I could notice, right after i installed evrything we rode all day at wayne national and I had my wife with me and a large cooler, we rode 60 miles and I still had over a 1/4 tank left I didnt think that was too bad.

 

If ya dont mind saying, how much $ did that set you back, also would like to know the noise diff now with the hmf.

 

I just priced the utility series yellow can, with trail kit jets and filter, and the quiet core. came to 363.49 with 2nd day air delivery, or about $320 regular delivery. Guy said the quit core in the utilty pipe is 96dbs, compared to 94 in the QS1 eco system, close in noise dept., but has about a 5.5 hp increase as compared to abot 2.5 hp increase with the eco.

 

I got the HMF brushed alum. for 199.95 the quiet core was 20 bucks I got the dynojet kit for 50 bucks at highlifter. make sure when you order the carb kit it has the new needle and spring and not just the main jet. the spring makes the biggest difference as it revs up now like a sport quad instead of the slow rev from factory. Noise wise with the quiet core its not much louder than stock at idle or part throttle but when you hammer it it makes people look. I'm very happy with the sound. I took the quiet core out the other day to see if it ran any different it seemed a slight bit more powerful on bottom but the noise was completely unbearable. your price doesnt seem too bad. let me know

 

I have the spark arrestor out of mine and I wonder if the exhaust sounds close to your set up. I am thinking of doing mine and dont want anything to loud.

 

I just got back from riding today and I took the rappy 700 and I just have put a full HMF system on it. I was also thinking of doing the vinson with a pipe. Well I wanted the rappy loud but I dont with Vinson. I need to here the utlity series. I was riding in a pretty crowded place and it makes it awful hard to hear the other people but one thing for sure they herd me today.
