85-86 quadracer clutch cover leaking
#1
Has any one had problems with the 85-86 clutch cover sealing? I notice it was leaking a small amount of oil at bottom of cover. Then i took it out for a ride and it also leaks by the coolant passage. I dropped the oil and it was all white. Thanks Adam

1) you need to get a new gasket and start over with that clutch cover. 2)While I suppose that faulty cover gasket could allow oil and coolant to mix, you might want to double check your work while you are in there. Running it in this condtion os a sure way to trash your bottom end.

check the mating case surfaces for dings or deep scratches. but they would have to be around where the coolant passes between the cases to get coolant in the oil.
if the weep hole is pluged no coolant will come out of it. and if the pump seals were installed wrong it will leak, and if the waterpump shaft was not replaced it could leak also.

I have to use gasket maker on my clutch cover cause the mating surfaces have a few nicks, but if your oil is white then you have another problem too, your clutch cover can leak out a quart of oil per day and your oil still shouldnt turn white.I think you may have a 2 problems at once. I suposed if a part of you clutch cover was broke in the right place very badly you may get water in the oil,but i doubt it. I suspect the water pump might have been installed incorrectly
