Default Snorkled the Eiger, and have problems

Here is pics of how I ran and what I used for the Snorkel

Once the bike is warmed up. Choke off, It spits and sputter and doesnt run good at all. 1/4 Choke it and it runs decent, but still you know there is no power down low. It doesnt even want to spin the wheels. But it runs fine wide open with 1/4 choke.

What do I need to do here to get it running right? Adjust the Carb? Order a Dyno Jet Kit? I lack knowledge on this part of the Eiger!

Thanks
Rick

I dont really know if I can help you on this one, it seems to me if you snorkel it especially down to the size you did that it would run rich like you were choking it , but if you have to choke it to get it to run I think that means you are not getting enough gas. Are you sure you did not have a previous problem with your carb? Maybe you could adjust the air mixture screw to get the adjust .Ask hondabuster he seems to really know this stuff. You will see him on here alot he gave me some good advice on my GRIZ electrical problem. Good luck.

Ram looking back at your pics I would definetly say you are restricting your air flow , and im not too sure of the hose I think that you need to maintain the inside diameter all the way through to the end of the snorkel . It looks nice though.

Oh make sure the boot on the carb and all is hooked up and tight ,Ill tell ya I have had to go over my quad when I got it back from the shop quite a few times ,I hate to let the shop work on what I can fix, But I would be lost on a tranny.I have had boots to the clutch tubing left off.The plastic on the body not in the slots , stupid stuff like that cause the mechanic is in a hurry or just dont care .Just my thoughts.

Bud, you know what the problem is?Every carb atv is fine tuned for a certain amount of air intake. If you give it too much or too little it will run like crap.Like when we took the lid off the z400 and a friends yfz450, it ran like a peice unless the choke was on.It is because it is taking in too much air and there is not enough gas to mix with it.That is why the choke gas to be on, because if it is not on there would not be enough fuel to mix with it.And or if it is not getting enough air, there is too much fuel and not enough air.So it sounds like you need to jet it.
