King Quad "knocking sound"
#1
I've heard it since the day I bought it, but it seems more noticable, so my question is does a knock hurt anything or is it just part of a big single....are any of you other KQ owners getting a knock? Any Grizzly 660 owners getting one( only other big single I can think of)?

Oggy Doggy it is coming from the tranny's side..maybe it's that I haven't changed my belt yet if that makes a difference, I have 850 miles.
Smokeman that's when mine does it too, at idle, when I hit the throttle I can't really hear it as much.

Mine does the same thing. Thought something maybe was wrong so had the service manager check it out when I had it in for the 100 mile service. He told me everything OK and in specs(whatever that means). Mine also goes away when over an idle. Sometimes not even noticable that much idling but I like things mechanically perfect or at least as much as possible so had it checked out. Probably lots of people don't even think about it if it starts and runs. I'll let you know if I have any problems in the future but for now everything is good. Runs strong, no smoke, goes almost anywhere I'm experienced enough to ride.

Both my machines 2005 LT160f & LT250z have had a knocking sound since day 1. Dealer has assured me it is nothing it goes away just off idle. Both quads run fantastic. Must be the nature of the beast

Yeah I'm starting to think it's just the way it sounds, not any performance problems or anything like that..who knows maybe this new ECM from Yoshimura will help...but I don't know.
