Has anybody tried a newer engine in the older quadsport?

Just a thought. Where I live, the sport is the right size to get thru almost all the tight trails, but the power of say a 400 engine would be GREAT!

I have a running '87 230 E? (electric start) motor and a lot of other parts that I collected for a now stalled restoration. I know for a fact that there are different mounting spaces and systems between the manual and electric start versions. I bought a frame from an '88 manual and it's not a match for my '87 electric. It could be fixed but I don't seem to be able to find time to finish it. Stuff is in the Minneapolis, MN area.
