Default z 400 purchase

i am looking to buy a used z 400 or kfx 400, i wanted to know if there is enough of a diff between the 03/04 and the 05's. I heard the only diff is suspension...if there is any others i would love to hear them...and is the suspension on th 05's incredibly better then the 03/04's, and is it worth it to spend the extra money no the 05?

I would opt for the 450 when it comes out in January, we are already taking deposits.

The new suspension is noticable if u ride for a long time because the suspension will continue to perform the same because of the oil resivors, heres a list of the what the 05s and older models dont have :
Larger 37mm carburetor with throttle position sensor - ignition timing is determined by throttle opening for improved engine response, especially at high rpm
Revised cam profiles for improved overall power output
Increased number of clutch drive plates (8 to 9) for improved clutch operation and feel
New magnesium valve cover, clutch cover and ignition cover for improved engine appearance and reduced weight
Piggyback reservoir-style front shock absorbers featuring adjustable preload, compression & rebound damping for improved overall suspension performance
New aluminum front bumper and aluminum rear grab bar for improved appearance and reduced weight
Aluminum gear shift lever for lighter gearshift feel and reduced weight

05/06 has 6.6 more hp from factory. Resi shocks are adjustable for preload, compression, and damping. I believe the old shocks are only preload adjustable. Frames are also built better, factory gusseting. I think wakeboarder covered just about everything else.

Larger 37mm carburetor with throttle position sensor - (This is a misprint, the carb is still a 36mm)

New magnesium valve cover, clutch cover - (There are already people having issues with these corroding)

No, actually it's a misprint on the specs page on the website saying that it is 36. It is 37. see here And also in your owners manual in the back, for those of you with an 05/06. I just double-checked in the back of mine to be sure before I posted this, because I really hate it when I'm wrong. It's definetely 37mm.
