Removing Scratches From The Plastic Fenders
#11
Pledge Not Perm but works till it washes off. Seems to make scratches look alot less noticable. I use it after every wash. I've found if you try to fix the plastic with sandpaper, etc you will lose that shine...thats why I don't do that anymore..I just Pledge it.

I did the sanding, ending up with 3000 grit. Mop and Glow did not work, however my wife did find Johnson and Johnson's
"FUTURE" acrylic floor polish and that did the trick. The damaged fenders look almost new......not perfect, but 99% improved.
Thanks for all the input.

thanks for the tips, nice ideas....
beleive it or not, I also found wiping down with "pre-oiled gun wipes" before mudding makes it easier for hosing off....
I also know of someobdy who had their machine rhino lined and it looks great...kid beats the hell out it and its holding up pretty well after almost a year....

I thought there was some miracle stuff on www.rockymountainatvmc.com that worked really well?

After you get the finish smooth and before you try mop and glow or whatever try 3M paint protection film is transparent and it's nearly invisible. It is very durable and will protect your fenders when you have a 2d person.
It's pricey but outlasts the rest.

You can get the 3m plastic online or an auto parts store that deals in paint/bodyparts or cabelas markets it under the automotive as Trimbrite Bodyguard Paint Protection Film.

Looked it up on Cabelas site. Looks like it may work for what I want. Will it go around the wheelwell openings OK or is it too thick to lay down good without making relief cuts or pieceing?
