Default Removing Scratches From The Plastic Fenders

After my recent roll over, I have 4 fenders and headlight cover
that I need to work on. Has anyone successfully removed scratches
from their plastics. Searching on the net...... it appears that it may be
possible to progressively use wet sanding with the higher grits of paper.

400 grit wet, 800 grit wet, 1000 grit wet, and finally 2000 grit wet

Then usie Meguiar's, starting with #17 clear plastic cleaner and
then a follow up with #10 clear plastic polish

Are there any other suggestions, other than buying new plastic?

That sounds like prolly the best way, just reading the thread topic i was gonna suggest wetsanding. New plastics are insanely expensive.

ive read somewhere to sand them down, coat them with mop and glow. then take a butane torch or some flame like that to them to bring the shine back. Or just buy that plastic renuw.

Well I did the labor intensive sanding using up to 3000 grit. Then the
Meguiar's. The plastic is till very dull, although all the deep scratches are out.
Even the buffer will not make it shine.

I'm going to order some Plastic Renew and see what that does.

Nothing works. Have tried almost everything and spent alot of money doing it. Once it's scratched it will never be the same. Even talked to the Rhino Lining people to see if just the outside up to the top of the ridge of the wheel opening could be sprayed to give better protection but they said it won't stick for long and will peel off. Seems like if there's enough interest someone would invest in molds for hard plastic covers like I've seen on Polaris and I think Honda that would fit over existing fenders.on the Suzuki. Most people just say that scratches show character and I've learned to live with them. But I don't really like having so much invested in a machine that looks so beat up. Seems that Suzuki could find a more durable plastic finish or provide protective covers.

I've heard the tip about Mop N Glow also. I'm gonna try it on mine.

Future is clear and goes on without the streaking and breakdown that I got with Mop N Glow.

Yup..... I tried the wife's Mop and Glow after the 3000 grit sanding. Close, but
it does streak as you say. Hardware store and grocery store don't have Future
so I have to do some more searching. Thanks
