Ok, I know it can be done, I have seen it. I have narrowed the engine down to these years 89,90 and 91. These units were air cooled with a oil cooler, no more water cooling. They were rated at about 110 horse power. The one I saw was at st. anthonys, and it killed choke cherry hill like nothing. The guy said there was a person that did these conversions, but I dont know if he is around any more. What am I up against and how hard would these be...

All I know is that these types of conversions get really HEAVY really quick... They run okay, but really limit the play-ability IMHO

Iv been down the same road with the same motor, take my advice spend more money and buy a newer take out motor even a 600 it will have the same hp but a 750 or 1000 would rock, and they are way smaller therfor easier to fit in and lighter, also fuel injected whitch is killer, the liquid cooling is much better. and i will tell you right now it is more work than you think, but just take your time and dont half a$$ it and it will turn out real nice.

With the older oil cooled suzuki motors it really isnt that hard. I have done several swaps, using varying engines, mostly to go-cart type units. me and my cousin started out small with a 200cc yamaha three wheeler motor on a go cart when we were 15 years old and gradually worked our way up. the newer FI motors are cool to think of but are more complicated with the EFI and all. It can be done though. And smaller newer engines may have the same rated HP as older larger engines, but they also usually wont meet the torque specks of the older bigger guys. For beggining ide say stick with the gixxer engine, it is a favorite for people doing swaps and mods. I have at this time a ZRX1200R, 1164cc engine that I am trying to decide what to do with. Put it in an atv, or do a cart type set up. Ive got a 400ex frame Im thinking of doing. Most all our conversions have been offroad, but if you have seen the Gixxercart videos with the 1100 gixxer engine on a cart racer frame, then you know what i have in mind!!! Mind blowing cart action!!!!! I havnt done anything like this in a while, so myself and cousin are really looking forward to getting hands on again! Heck ive put chainsaw engins on bicycles , talk about wild, and dangerous! So once again , it might be better idea to start with the simpler engines like the 1100 before you go all in.
