I am considering purchasing a 05 King Quad. I outgrew my TRX250EX in about a month and I have been riding a 05 Prarie 360 but it is not enough power either and weighs just about the same as the 650cc+ bikes so I figure I may as well go w/ 650cc+ and can always grow into it instead of outgrowing it so quickly. I however am 5'4 and weigh 140Lbs. All of you are saying you are 300+Lbs so now I am getting a little scared? Other choices I am considering are the Honda Ricon 650cc and the Grizzly 660cc? My fiance said I should get something w/ Independent Rear Suspension and my only other choice was a 750 Brute Force which does not interest me. I want something pretty stable that will not flip easily. How is the King Quad in terms of safety? I too would upgrade the tires asap.

I agree with 4Fitty! I cannot tell you much about the brute force since I havent ridden one of them! The Honda was out for me (read about tranny problems) and with the lack of a front diff lock! That was not the bike for my! I did not want to shell out the extra cash for the Bomb. I have ridden a 660 Grizzly a lot and realy have nothing at all bad to say about it but realy nothing great to say about it either! It had pretty good power, rode ok, but when i rode the King that was it! SOLD!!! The King is very stable, not overpowering, very rider friendly! That is just my two cents! I don't know anythig anyway! That is why I am on here asking so many stupid questions! Several of my 200# or less friends have the King on there wish list this Christmas! They had no problem with the KING QUAD! Thanks!

I knew your response was for me Kingluvr. I am still undeceided. I think I am leaning thowards the Outlander 800 XT but finding a dealer w/ one in my area is hard. The all seem to have the Max and I don't really need or want the extra 50 Lbs. If things don't work out w/ it though I think I will get a King Quad and switch the filter and tires asap.

Megan, if your concerned about saftey for your size..I wouldn't recommend an 800 outtlander they are very big and VERY powerful ecpecially coming from a 360cc machine, these big bores can get away from you ecspecially with that much power and when they do you have a maybe 50/50 chance of getting out without serious injures sense they weigh so much...I forget how much they weigh because they are so fast and sporty. This is what makes them so dangerous. The KQ would be a better choice for someone your size but it's still very big, but it's very low center of gravity makes it's 4 tires stay firmly planted to the ground I've never flipped mine...but I'm 6' "3 180lbs I feel like it was designed for someone 6ft+ in mind. If you do get the Outty 800 though, just be very catious with their power, they can flip over backwards on level ground. Wouldn't recommend it though, I wouldn't even buy it cuz I'd probably kill myself doing wheelies.

I really like the KQ, so much so that I purchased a second for my significan other to ride. Had a meld down on the engine after 1800 miles due to dirt getting through the filter. Suzuki authorized the dealer to replace the stock filters in each machine to Uni's Excellent foam filters. The throdle plate is now clean enough to eat off of it.
Question. On the handle bars there are threaded (10 or 13cm) holes built in to part of the handlebar controls on each side, which I assumed was for the windshield mounts. WRONG! The mount has its own mount to the bar (room is real tight). Does anyone know what the purpose is of the two threaded holes????
