z250 help
I was having trouble trying to get my z250 started again, because of the cold weather. I made sure i had fuel and a i had it on prime and full choke. It would start then die, so i was gonna change the idle. Then a couple days later im going to try and see if it will start, and i have more trouble. Now, i try and press the starter and it has like a 2 second delay before it trys to start, so i dont know if theres something wrong with the starter?BTW, i didnt get it started then. any help would be appreciated.

happened to me once...i had it on "on" and it wouldn't start, i turned it onto "primary" and it fired right up...i guess your problem would probably be something different since you had it on primary and it still didn't work...did you wreck or something?...that's what happened to me....i rolled it and then it wouldn't start until i turned it onto primary

Sounds like the battery needs to be recharged.
If you have someone to help you, to could bump start it and that would be much easier on the battery and starter circuits.
Put the z in 4th, hook up a tow strap, and turn the key on and go to full choke. Have someone pull you on the quad at about 10 mph, and itll start.

Check all of your grounds. I had the same problem with mine, and then the problem became worse and worse. I replaced the battery and that didn't help any. So finally my neighbor got looking and saw that the ground connector that connects to the top of the engine was cracked. He got looking some more and turns out that it was grounding itself threw the main wiring harness. I fried over half the wires in it. Luckily he works at Freightliner and one of the electrical guys was able to rewire it instead of having to spend $150-$200 on a new harness.
