500 oil filters
#2
Luckywilson....
Not all oil filters are the same, even though others might be cheaper, you could jeopardize the life of the engine.
There are pressure release valves in every filter, but not all brands open up according to the psi designed for your engine.
The filter media is also a big concern, 'cause the last thing that you want is for the oil flow to be restricted in any way.
If you ever do decide to buy an after market filter, ( I think Fram is the only one available ) turn it upside down and compare it to the Suzuki filter, you'll see a big difference.
In my opinion, the two or three dollars that you might save, is not worth the potential damage and cost that could occur to the engine & transmission.
Happy motoring....

I have an AC500 auto, same engine as yours. I use the Fram filter. They're $6.00 or so at the local auto parts store. I have cut one open and it is identical to the Suzuki/AC filter that costs $13.00. It even has the same internal markings and numbers stamped on the sheetmetal inside the filter. So fear not the fram filter. BTW, STP and NAPA also sell filters that will fit your machine.

LUCKYWILSON, hello to ya'll. I am new to your forum at least from a reply standpoint. I've been reading it for several months now. I just wanted to let ya know that the FRAM # you need is PH-6018
I've changed out a bunch of those in the last year. The FRAM filter is a good one and will not affect your warranty or harm your machine. The NAPA filter is also a good one and is made by WIX. You should have good service out of either one. We have up here in alaska riding in some severe conditions.

Well....I still will stick with the Suzuki filter. I have read enough oil filter tests, and Fram filters are last on my list. But thats just my opinion, and I hope whatever filter one uses works great for them!
