These are the mods done to my bike:
-2" drop on the front with home made brackets, makes bike 2-2.5 inches wider so not so tippy. 1" in the rear. Bike looks waaay better. Handles way better.
-motion pro twist grip
-billet fuel cap
-open air box
-dyno jet jet kit
-yoshi slip on
-WEB cams stage 2 cam (213 grind) web cams double valve spring kit (MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE)
-add on electric 4" cooling fan
Yes the cam will bolt right in but needs the valve spring kit. You could buy the stage 1 cam and just bolt it in. There is no need to bring your bike to the dealer it is cake to change the cam in a z250. I had to lower the bike in the front more than the back because when i shifted into second the bike would wheelie so bad it would flip over if you stayed in it. Again ask for melissa at web cams, the number is 951-369-5144. also to get the bike to run right with this cam you ne dynojets jet kit. jetting is as follows. .138 main jet, needle on slot 3, mixture screw out 2.5 turns. Also, it says nothing about this...but when you change needles, get some small washers and shim the needle so it has no play, you'll understand when you take the top off the carb...very simple. I will be adding a header prolly this week and I'm gonna try to adapt a z400 cdi box so i can raise the rev limiter. The engine stays on the rev limiter with these mods right now. I'm gonna call weisco again and see if they got anywhere with a piston yet. Sorry if I keep jumping around but there is so much info to share. I had to figure out all this crap on my own cause no one wants to help when I tell them I have a z250. They tell me to go buy a z400. I say nah...I'd rather a challenge of making a slow bike fast. I havent had a chance to see the top speed on my gps because the bike is so violent i could not look down at the gps because the bike was getting sideways in every gear, plus the gps did not read fast enough to keep up with the bike accelerating. The space I had was less than 1/8 of a mile. Any other questions you can e-mail me directly at Camarowfreak@aol.com.......I hope others follow me along and modify their bikes so the aftermarket will start making parts. By the way, I out ran a 300ex a few weeks ago before i did the cam and his bike was not stock. He and his friends could not believe I was on a 250.

how much did all these things run you? and what kind of header will you be getting? as far as i'm aware, yoshimura does not make a header for z250...mine is pretty much stock cuz i have no money but as soon as i get my pipe and intake i will definatly be getting a cam and high compression piston/big bore...ever think about a port and polish job?

Yeah, as stated above, I am VERY interested in what the cam ran you, and if you get any information on the piston, that too.

Ever since I installed 25" Super Swampers on my Ozark, I have lost a pretty good amount of power. If the cam adds as much power as you say it does, that would put me back up to the speed level that I was before the big tires.

Well I forgot to mention that I will be pulling the head off soon to port it. I was gonna do it this weekend but sunday we are going ride at either forest hill or the dunes so i don't have time. I'm really not in a hurry to do it because of the rev limiter is getting in the way. Now as far as the cam goes to make your ozark back to where it was, the top end and midrage will be way more, but the bottom will be less. You should probably get thier stage 1 cam or just wait till weisco comes out with a piston (they are working on it.) and do the stage 2. As for header pro circuit makes one and white brothers list one in he chaparral catalog. The price for the pro circuit header is 179.99.
Now for how much my mods cost:
-Yoshi slip on 315.95
-billet fuel cap 19.99
-lowering kit free
-cam and valve springs 200.00
-air box vents 14.00
-jet kit 45.00
-twist throttle 38.00 which i'm going to remove
-cooling fan i had already
-LED tail light conversion 30.00 plus i had to make a bracket
i'm gonna try to put some pics on here as soon as i can. really the bike looks just like stock just a bit lower. I have not added any stickers to it at all and the bike gets fully detailed after every ride. I'm thinking about an HID headlight conversion soon because I like to ride at night. Well I gotta run...going get me a uni filter today...,..
