mucky , i was just thinking about your quad the other day. i'm thinking about the athens kit for my kfx , but i'm also
thinking about the 440. have you raced anyone with a athens or know anyone that has one. i'm not trying to be
the fastest, i'm just looking for a couple of extra ponies to play with.

The athena / Hammerhead setup is supposedly the fastest MX legal setup you can get.

The Hammerhead is purchased separately and comes in a killer 14:1 compression ratio.

Also if you want more power look into these guys:

http://www.maxpower-engines.com/atv-bb-intro.htm

and like mucky said or for sizes up to 536cc

I talked to the guy down there too, he said the 536 needs to be rebuilt every season

I have raced against a 434 Athena with FCR, ported by DAB, etc. with my YFZ and we were fairly even.

Raced against a 450 Yoshi non ported head with cams carb ig box etc and he beats me like a rented mule.

What timing chain are you using. I hope not stock. I would at least go with a DID if not a DID 4/5

Only big thing that I can actually think of is make sure you shim it right and check it again after a break in period.

Oh and dont strip the head tightening the Cam retaining bolts!

Good Luck and Have Fun!!

Oh and with the athena, don't get me wrong the Yosh 450 kit is a killer setup otherwise gust would've ran something else, but this Hammerhead in conjunction with the athena's added cooling ability is the setup for power! Also, look for Max Power to come out with an Ice Cube cylinder in the future. They put off production because of the LTR450, but they see there are alot of us sticking with the Z for now and rethought the production line.

You can bet I'll have a HH in a Ice Cube as soon as it hits the market!!!
