i brought in my kfx400 to the dealership and of course it had begun to corrode. Under the warranty theyre going to replace everything fan cover etc. etc. Right now thouigh the dipsh*ts at kawasaki ordered me a new cover but its the same magnesium one. I explained that i NEED a aluminum one though. Im in the process of arguing with them and want to know if i should just use the same magnesium cover but with evans coolant or if i should order the aluminum one? thanks!

 

Powder coat it and run the Evans.

Yes the Cannondales had that problem, but it's been fixed for years now.

When you say everything, can you please list it out. My Z400 is badly corroded, and when I took it to the dealership, they couldn't believe it. I have a feeling I am going to be in a battle with Suzuki over what is going to be covered and would like to know exactly what Kawasaki is covering. Thanks

To put it short though the whole water pump assembly , fan , cover... everything. The dealership says it will most likely be covered under warranty and if you read the details in the warranty contract its pretty obviouse that suzki/kawi has to cover it! the dealership i went to was cool about the whole problem and didnt try to hide anything. to be honest though im pretty confident, that suzuki will cover the cost for you. if not raise hell and they eventally will. check the site though it will give you a good idea of just how much $ the job costs if you pay out of your pocket.

My bike is over 12 months old and I got mine done for absolutely nothing !

 

mines 12 months and they said it way out of warrenty and they wouldnt do it. talked to kawi yesterday.maybe your dealer pulled some strings but mine said he had to have a ok from kawi.
in so how did you get it done?

 

Mines a Suzuki so maybe that had something to do with it and also I buy plenty of stuff off him so its in his own interests to look after me !

 

called kawi after i read your post,i ended up chewing some a$$. i asked if it got worst and blew my engine if they are liable because its a factory defect, they said NO, and i should get it fixed so that doesnt happen because its on me now. YA, he got a big F.U.!!!


so ive ordered a 04, ive heard they would fit on the 05's. is there any diff????
