Lake Erie? Where do you live again? I lived about 10 min from Lake Erie since the 80's. I remember as a kid carrying 2 stringers PACKED with yellow perch back from outta that lake. The water was high then and the fish stayed around shore. Those were the good ole days! I went in 2005 for 10 hrs fishin and only got 5 of em. I could do better than that in a roadside pond in an hour. Man,,, I'm gettin hungry... No where in the south to get perch or brim. All they have here is that nasty *** catfish that tastes like mud. Usually, once a yr, there's a group that apparently doesnt know not to go ice fishin on Lake Erie when there is a wind from the south. No telling how many ATV's, cars, trucks, n snowmobiles at the bottom of that lake.

So,,,, did you find out if you was from Dayton? Or MN?

Luckily, I've only lived in one of 2 places so I always have a 50/50 shot at guessing right.

When I first moved back to GA I thought I should have gotten a vaccination. I got so sick on new yrs 2006, I thought if I was any older, the fever would kill me. I got sick 6 times that yr. 2007 wasn't too bad. I got the flu in Feb and I think that was it for the yr. So far, so good this yr. The flu is always bad news!

I'm not sure what you mean by "whole thing". There is only the power coil, lighting coil, and pick up coil (not really part of the stator). Look here under magneto http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_atv_parts.htm

Just put the moose coil in there and go ride before the snow melts. You said you don't need the lighting coil anyway. You also dont need a gasket. Just use a thin layer of black RTV and put it together quickly before the RTV sets up.</end quote></div>

meaning rather than buying one piece at a time til it works, I'm gonna buy the whole stator assembly, the coils, and the pickup.

But since then I have figured out something new!!!

RF Stator on ebay said he will repair mine and ship it back for $117! With a 1 year warranty, and they use thicker wire than stock.

So I saved $100 bucks!!! let you all know how it turns out!

BTW- whats black rtv and where do i get it? and how fast does it set up?

btww, the snow is gone!!!

Any place that sells oil will probably have the black RTV. Walmart, autozone, etc. RTV = Room Temperature Vulcanization. Its silicon.

It takes about as fast to set up as you can get everything back together and tightened down. Be sure to tighten it down fully before it dries. Remember: THIN LAYERS!!! There is not a big gap between the cases to seal. That's all the rtv you need. Anymore will just squeeze out and could come off n get lodged somewhere else in the engine.

The snow will be back. OH got 8 inches... So, its coming. We're actually getting a few flakes here in GA. Will be in the 60's though this weekend so, no hope of any accumulation.
