ok now im scared that im gonna punch out a hole in my engine. two weeks after the rebuild and she is still running good, ive been riding my nieghborhood woods after school with no problems, but i cant wait for the weekend to have her back on some real trails</end quote></div>

all i have is a high compression piston on stock bore

You are golden! Don't sweat it, keep oil in it and beat it like a redheaded step mule!!

Refresh "our" memory, what have you done to her?</end quote></div></end quote></div>

EJ, you're probably ok unless your rod was really bad. I had a .060 over high comp in mine for a while and I beat the snot out of it. Sometimes I'd hold the throttle wide open and fan the clutch to shift to the next gear without ever letting off the throttle. The revs would go to the moon when I'd do that. But I wouldn't recommend you to do that unless you're prepared to handle a hole in your engine. Next time you have it apart, put a new rod in it.

Ive never been one to mess with a good thing when its all on the line. Maybe not an extra 230 as much as an extra 230..motor..... Got the same bottom end in mine that rolled off the assembly line. I figure, Hey, this one works good, Lets see what can be accomplished with some know how, patience and a little (more or less ) extra cash.

Now, what is the deal again about the rod? Is there an upgrade unit or are we talken 230 vs. 250 rod again?

As always.

Vince told me there was a +4 rod available for it. I'm assuming its for the 250, but not sure. There is some reason the 250 takes a 2-link longer cam chain. I don't know what rods he uses... All I know is they are NOT made in Taiwan. He said we'd be good to go on the BBkit with his services.

And I have always been one to mess up a good thing faster than most........

The lesson as I understand it, though I have yet to do it, due to some BS circumstances (read:my dumbass) IS, If you big bore a 230, you must have a balanced crank, and a stronger rod, to make **** work correctly...

QS270 is the only one to do such with any longevity in this forum...
My stuff would probably still be running ape ****, if it weren't for my dumb luck..
