I'm working on mine for the big picture day! I dragged the plastics into the garage yesterday... There's a few places that need sanded back down and painted. So, that's on the to-do list.

I also found some new fabric for my seat. Some fatass sat in one of those foldable chairs and broke it, so I took the cloth off it and figured I could use that as a seat cover. I think it will look cool... You'll see.

I also ended up taking my top a-arms back off and sawing off the bit that has the 3 holes for the balljoint. I'm welding it back on about 1/2 inch forward to move my caster. With my jacked up front end, 23 inch front tires, lowered backend and 20 inch rears, my steering is really heavy and will wearout my arms pretty quick, but this mod should help out a lot.

Hopefully I can get everything done by this weekend. Can't wait to finally have the plastics back on. I think its been since xmas 2007!

That plastic spray paint... Krylon fusion I think. Then coat it with polyurethane to make it really shiney. The plastic paint sucks less than the others, but it still will flake off if you smack something hard. I must have kicked up some rocks with my tires because I have 2 big places where the paint disappeared. Of course I was kinda lazy on the sanding before I painted it. Next time I'm going to totally demolish the plactic's surface.... Maybe even with a coarse-twisted wire-wheel! Make the paint bite and the poly will make the sanding marks go away. You can also poly over stickers to make them look painted on because there are no sticker edges.... Just smooth surface.

There should be a pic in my "My page" on here. I'll never put THAT much work into it again! I just wanted to see how good I could really do. That was pretty good, if I do say so myself. The finish was almost perfect. I could literally shave in the reflection. Its all scratched up now tho. SOmebody before me painted over my white plastics with white! I do not know why? It looked crappy when I got it but it is about at the end of the 230 project priority list right now until I get some other things done to it.

Right now I think the list goes like this:

Swing arm extension
Extend a-arms
Rear wheel spacers or wider axle, what ever is less expensive.
Head and Cam work.
Redo foot pegs.
Make it look pretty.

The rear wheel spacers saved my cousin a few bucks on his 250X when he crashed it. He slid sideways across a frozen puddle at about 15mph and the back wheel hit a big rock. Needless to say he got ejected and he popped the bead of the tire and it was flat, but the axle didn't bend, only the wheel spacers!
