Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Sorry, still figuring out photobucket: If anyone is interested post here or pm me.

On another note; Ugly I like white too. But at christmas my wife got me brand new meyer black for the 230. She said it made more sense because the frame and seat are blue and the way I ride she calls it Bruiser cause I'm also black & blue sometimes. My Z400 is white though.

Ok guys, looking for some opinions. I finally got the old bearings out of one of my swing arms that I want to lengthen. the sprocket side of the tube is .005"-.010" out of round does not look bent, and has no cracks. Is it worth trying to salvage with new bearings and bolt?</end quote></div>

Hard for me to recommend doing anything other than what I did already. Maybe you could get by with the stock tube, but if you're lengthening the swingarm anyway.....

Also, how do you know the tube isn't bent? How did it get out of round? Its probably bent too.

I don't know man... My knees hurt just watching [IMG][/IMG]

A sled would be fun!</end quote></div>

Honestly with all that powdery snow it didn't hurt one bit! Only when I fell elbow first eight times did it start to hurt! haha!

We've used a water tube previous years but this year we decided to mix it up a bit. Next time we're going to try to bring a snowboard or skis.</end quote></div>

What about a small boat?

That looks nice!

So, you just quietly stuck a tm28 on there with no questions or nothing and got it running that good? I'm impressed! [IMG][/IMG]

That engine looks pretty clean too. I've been trying to strip the paint/coating or whatever it is on mine to make it aluminum color again. Its been a pain.</end quote></div>

I run a motorcycle and car chassis dyno for a living and have a bit of experience with mikunis so it was no problem</end quote></div>

Wow, so I should be asking YOU for advice.

Hey Guys,

Been awhile. Been watchin when I can. Just wanted to offer some stuff here before e-bay. This forum has been so helpful. Plans have changed. I was going to put a big bore on my 230 but wife decided against it. I recently got an '06 Z400 and the wife wants the 230 for her. I've got a new 250S cylinder to either stroke a 230 or with some minor machine work same stroke. Also a new wiseco 70mm piston kit with wrist pin, circlips, and rings. Cometic top end gasket set. Good used stock cylinder, head, and valve cover. </end quote></div>

That will make somebody very happy!

Is the jug bored for the piston yet? It looks pretty clean. I think that sleeve can go up to 72mm.

How was you going to increase the stroke?

pretty typical on those things, they'll make 90ft-lbs at 3500rpm but they don't really pull up high , some do but of course they are highly modified

good bike for towing , lol

I was going to order the DG nerf guards, but I really would just like a set of heel guards, I saw some on a 230 that was for sale on ebay but the guy selling it had no idea where they came from or what brand they are - does any one know of any that will fit the lt230s? Otherwise I think I will make some with a set of aftermarket blaster pegs I got laying around

It's a brand new LT250S cylinder ( longer stroke ), have to have a crank redone? My plan was to take .100" off the top and .150" off the bottom gasket surface and .100" off the bottom of the cylinder and re-chamfer. That will make it dimensionally the same as the 230S jug. Bigger fins for better cooling. I don't like sleeves. And yes this will go to 72mm. Not bored yet. I think it would make a nice, reliable 260cc for somebody.
