And yeah replacing that pic with something bigger was what I was going to work on later tonight.

Oh and I was supposed to have a pic showing all the choices on that post you replied to, but I guess it didn't work.
The wrench is nice. The logo is good the way it is I think.

What you probably have is a 230E. Check the 10th digit of the vin for the yr according to: Alpha Sports - Suzuki ATV Parts Catalog

Click the link in atvman's signature for a wire diagram and look under the common issues section.

I don't know too much about the E's... They probably have an alternator instead of a magneto.

You have 3 clutches... a one-way, centrifugal, and regular ole wet multi disk.

thank you for your input! does anyone know about the intake? can i just put a tube coming off of the carb and put and air filter on it?

You mean without an airbox? If so, you'll have a lot of carb tuning problems. It can be done, I did it, but I had to drill out monster jets. And I have a dial-a-jet.

thats the thing though... the tube between the airbox and carb are gone so its just an open carb when i got it and it runs fine

This sucks, my computer took a dump on me last night. Well not ny computer, Windows.

I did the windows update and after the restart, a file was corrupted causing almost every non-microsoft program not to run.

Guess I know what I'm doing tonight.

You better get some kind of filter on there or you'll have a worn out intake valve.

Hard to believe it runs fine, but if you say so, ok. The guy that sold it to you might have been good with carbs, but if he is, why did he not put a filter on it? Surely he'd known the intake valve wouldn't last long.

Anyway, I see 2 choices. 1) put it back to stock with parts from ebay. 2) Do what you're thinking, but be prepared for a lot of jetting problems.

Here's what I did:

Getting mud on it is a problem too.... In addition to the jetting puzzle.
