What's its status? Running? Not? That's a nice price and there's tons of support for the wheeler in the form of parts, advice on here, and info on my website!
I'd say you pick it up!

if i had the Xtra cash i would buy it too. most 230's go for around 800-1200 around here. it does have a case saver on it still that might be some good news.

Looks pretty nice if you threw a coat of paint on it! Kinda has a rugged sexy look to it as is though!

The guy said that it runs, but needs to be cleaned and new plastic. I hope that there is not a lot of rust on it. Wisconsin winters can be harsh.

You can't beat $450 bucks IMO.
#7215
i wonder if its painted that way and so cheap because its stolen?
#7216
I doubt it, its not THAT cheap. The 230 we picked up a while back looked a lot like this one.
If you want to check BioWare, get the WIDNR's phone number and read them the VIN while you're there. They can tell you in 30 seconds.

I went to look at a lakota a while back and happened to mention to the guy about everyone's obsession with 230's. Turned out he had one in the barn! I blew any chance of haggling by talking too highly of them to start with, but in hindsight, $500 doesn't seem too bad. It was just rebuilt with new piston etc and a new mag cover n s-arm bearings. Looked about like the one Bioware posted. Same black spray painted plastics. It also came with the optional rear rack.
Anyway, $500 is about the value of those old quads unless there is something special about it. I got mine for $200 and it smoked like a tar wagon.... Plus, just about every bearing n joint was toast, the plastic cracked, seat ripped up, and about 3 coats of latex house paint all over it. I think for $200 I got ripped off.

Just so you know, the VIN is on the lower frame tube, on the left side, right in front of the motor.

1985 was a good year. It had a smaller crankcase and took less oil than the other years. It should weigh-in barely over 300lbs. 1985 was also the first year of any fully suspended sport quad. Kind of a special thing there.
