Well, I've decided that I'm going to try and return the bumper. I like it, but I don't LOVE it. And I don't have $120 worth of liking for it. So I'm going to clean it up and send it back. Hopefully they won't notice I took the stickers out.

I'll just try to pound my stock one a little more straight.

My cousin just picked up that 03 Pred for $1300! Sold his 250X for $1100! Not a bad deal at all.

Yeah! haha My cousin just ran it and said it runs like a champ. The only things he's found are the front shocks are a kinda soft (hasn't tried adjusting it out though. BTW, how adjustable are the Fox Shocks on those things? Could he have them re-pressurized?), the paint on the a-arms is kinda f'ed up, and a few other small things but overall, its just a crazy good deal.

Here's the pic from the Craigslist ad (check out the shark mouth bumper! Yuck!):

My cousin spent all night buffing it because he's a clean freak, so I'm sure its just spick and span now.

Oh, and I've had another change of heart and I'm keeping my new bumper. I'll prolly just end up modding the mounts a bit to snug it in a little more. I just love the styling of it so much! I put the stock one back on for a sec and it was just underwhelming comparetively.

they should be very adjustable, if i remember correctly they have compression and rebound adjustments. start by playing with the preload to get a static adjustment, and then get out and ride. from there, you can usually get a good idea on what to adjust. if it feels like its bucking on the whoops alot, increase the rebound. if it still feels too soft and the preload is about right, start increasing the compression adjustment.

right now im trying to figure out what to do about that crack creeping up the back of the motor, letting out oil. these things look interesting, but theyre like $50

Dura Fix Aluminum Welding Aluminum Brazing Aluminum Soldering & Repair Rod

(i only have a flux core welder, so i cant do aluminum)

but the prospect of welding aluminum at only ~750F sounds very cool to me.

but i think my best bet is gonna be some super heavy duty epoxy (JB or better)

any ideas?

well man thats a ****ty spot, i weld alluminum for a living though well as of now till i go back to school. try and get it to a local welding shop and get someone to tig weld it
