Man, that's brutal! 400exs around here go easily in the $1500 range. $1800 for an 04 Pred is pretty good. My cousin got his 03 for $1300.

Here's a few I found in your area:

2004 suzuki lt-z400
kfx400 <---Definitely Check
2004 Polaris Predator
2006 Polaris Outlaw
2005 Honda 400ex **Must Sell**

Talk about a ready made go fast item. Ride the 230 in on a saturday morning, ride out on a 265 that after noon. Guess I need to finish that "big motor" project that was started last year huh.......
So you like the big bore? I did till the rod snapped!

I have been so freaking busy trying to get rich off of this recession that I haven't been able to play on here much at all! There are lots of great bargains out there right now, If you have been somewhat smart about your money. My Pop always told me that when the **** hits the fan, is when regular people become rich people!

I am working every angle possible brother! Gold, realestate, firearms, stocks, if it is cheap, I am BUYING EVERYTHING if it is cheap enough! I may not see the wealth, but my kid will, for sure!! Or she will be stuck with the debt!

What the hell, go big or die trying!!!

As always, Charles, I wish you, and all of my 230 people, the very best in life..

And as my good bud says, keep em alive!!!

you make them level with the top of the head...and make sure your cylinder is at the top

If you take out the spark plug and shine a flashligh in, you can easily see when the piston is @ the top of it's travel. We found that to be the easiest way.

If you do have to move the timing, its easiest just to remove the cam chain tensioner IMO. That way you don't have to find the right tension again.

thanks guys what do you mean find the right tension , i thought it was simply put spring pressure tension that kept it tight.i loosened the screw till it extended then tightened the 12mm head nut.

I'm not a racer just an old man but my son bought a lt230s that had sat a while. It wouldn't run right so I put a carb kit in it, new plug, cleaned the gas tank and it still doesn't run right. It starts great, runs pretty good for a little way but as soon as it starts warming up it runs worse and worse, misfiring, backfiring just running worse the warmer it gets, finally not hardly running at all. (i quick park it before it leaves me set). Anyone have any ideas on this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My son (age 16) is on a tight budget so I try to help him out on little mechanical things but this is over my head. thanks again
