Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Tried to get some pics on here a few days ago.....still pending.

I have been taking things apart...ran into a rear shock that is Yamaha monocross De Carbon system with 16M-00 on the sticker behind the spring. Anyone know what it is, what it came off of? Seems like its in good shape. I'll probably need a different one anyway as I'm planning to lengthen the swingarm....

Mods....please approve my pics.

ya know poolgod you are one of my favorites on this thread and yes almost all answers are in this thread i found it through a google search for my 230. I do have a question for those more qualified than me at this stuff. I have now disassembled my 2nd motor and found that the crank shaft rod is not spinning on the bottem( ie .the part of the rod not connected to the piston). my question is is there a bearing there that I can replace or am I better off sending it to mr crankshaft.
I also have a problem with my running motor, and that is that it is smokin pretty bad. I redid all the rings with the wiseco piston and to my knowledge they where perfect. My knowledge of 4-strokes isn't that good and I am wondering if the oil could be coming through the valves or valve seals? I did nothing to the valves when I redid my piston and crankshaft in this motor. PLEASE HELP!!!
Yes I will Be posting pics a.s.a.p. and I am still glad to here from poolgod, keep watchin this b&$chin thread.

Its times like this that, I belive, brings out he best in people. Im a FIRM beliver in back scrathen. If you need it, and I have it, consider it yours my friend.
I know someone that has a lot of parts, ( including a rolling chassie). He came by them honest. I bought a spare engine complete, (stator cover, stator, even a kick start lever still attached) from him last weekend. VARY good deal.
If your interested I can put you two in touch. Just let me know man...........!
Ive been there.
About 8 years ago, I had several (thousand dollers worth of ) Linear Power products stole from me by a former neighbor. Its a helpless feeling that leaves a person empty inside.
They reserve the warmer parts of HELL just for those people.
If I can help, PLEASE let me know.

I must admit, I dont think I want to know how you came up with that name

Your smoken problem, It could be the seals. Any time a part of the motor is worked on it can cause problems in the "unserviced" part of the motor.
Of course, if the wiseco was not given enough time to break in, you have just blown a rebuild. The first time I used a Wiseco kit, it took almost 3 months to break it in.
I think your on the right track with the valve seals though. The re-newed compression ( of the piston) can blow out the old valve seals.
I have a unique experience with this very issue. If I can help...................

If you need help, let me know. Ive been known to give out my personal email address from time to time. I have NO problem with helping a 230 owner.

yo big mc its great to here from ya. I am a reeftank profesional. thats what I do I go to restaurants and such and build saltwater reef systems as well as mantenance on them. Its a hobby not my real job.
I got my valve seals in the mail and was wondering if I should just change them or if I should order new valves and do it together? the 230 has no compression loss and it isn't a hell of a lot of smoke either. as far as breaking it in' I know that I did that without damage to the rebuild. I was extra carefull and knew I had to be; this is the first four stroke i've had to break-in. I have done many 2- strokes and I have a few r/c trucks with motors that I have broken in. those little motors are the worse to take your time and not just goose and go.
all and all I am pretty confident it is the valve seals I just wasn't aware that they shuold be done with a rebuild. (rookie mistake).
I would like to thank everyone for there help
