Default Will 89 230 quadsprot parts fit on a Suzuki 250 quad frame?

Hi everyone. I have a 1989 Suzuki 230 quad that I have stripped down to the frame and I was think of buying a 250 fram and installing everything on it. The 230 engine that I have has issues and needs new rings from what I'm told and I'm starting to learn that these parts are hard to find. So I am thinking of finding a 250 frame on ebay and just swaping all of the parts. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I'm open to anything at this piont.
Thank You

I believe you'll find that the 230 & 250 frames are the same or pretty close [the plastics & seat mounting may be different] but it is much harder to find parts for the 250 and more expensive. I know engine parts & plasctic for the 250 are more $$ and pretty rare. If you check eBay, you should be able to come across all the 230 parts you need. A new piston, rings & cylinder work for the 230 will probably be cheaper and take less time than rounding up 250 parts. JMO. Maybe somebody else here has done the swap & might be more help.

You need to take your Vin # AND your engine # to a dealer and find out what your quad actually is. I have yet to find a reference for a 1989 Quadsport 230. The 230s seem to stop at 1988 and the LT250S is 1989/90 model. I am wondering if your quad doesnt already have a different engine installed so that is why you think you have a 1989 LT230S. Someone may have blown up their 250 engine and replaced it with an earlier 230 motor.

Default Will 89 230 quadsprot parts fit on a Suzuki 250 quad frame?

Heres what has happened. I had a 1967 Chevy C-10 Truck for sale and I took this quad as partial payment. The guy that I got it from forgot to tell me that the bearings in the rear are shot and there is a few other things that are not right like the brakes seem to be seized, ect., ect.. He did tell me that the motor needed new rings. So I was thinking of just buying a 250 frame and a 250 motor and swaping all of my parts like the a-arms and ect. onto the new frame. I really want to restore this quad but I'm afraid I might be biting off just a little to much. I think that my main concern is the engine.

Also the reason that I thought it was a 1989 quadsport 230 is because that is what I was told by the person who I got it from, who apparently doesn't believe in telling the truth.
I would also like to thank everyone in this forum for all of your help. You guys and gals have been AWESOME!!

well why don't you just rebuild to 230 i don't think that you can make an engine out of a 230 and 250 put together and it'll just be so much work it wouldn't really be worth it so i say just rebuild it its not like you needa paint the frame or anything just get her goin and some new plastics you should be fine
