I cant think of much more I would want to do for the 230.
Suspension upgrades, carb and pipe, big bore kit. Thats all the good stuff for shure.
The machine could really benefit from a longer wheel base and wider stance. But that would fall under suspension upgrades wouldnt it?
I have been swaping idea's about bringing the lighting system up to date in another forum.
With a little time and a modest investment your machine could be a real trail terror.
Let us know how its going and by all means, if you have any questions.......just ask.
After all, the only dumb question is the one thats unasked.
look forward to hearing from you.

You've got to remember that compared to todays quads these weren't really made to be hopped up. There weren't alot of people making "speed" parts for them and today they won't because they are just too old and there's no $$ in making/designing parts for them.

An airbox mod, bigbore kit, cam, exhaust and modified carb are going to be just about all you can get out of it. If you really want it to perform at its best, have it dyno-tuned after you make your mods.

The stock sprocket set up is 12 in the front and 41 in the rear. .Make sure that you've got a 12 on the front to begin with and if you want more top end, I'd try moving up to a 13 in the front for starters. I think you can get one for about $8-10 on RockyMountain.com.

on the rear, anywhere from 39 to 41 teeth would be ideal

as for the front I would stick with either the 13 or the 14 teeth, myself I run the 14 and still have plenty of torque

With enough money to throw at it just about anything is possible. The little 230 isn't worth putting that much $$ into it though. By the time you get done buying suspension parts and upping the motor, you could have just purchased a larger displacement quad in the first place. There is nothing wrong with modding the LT, just my take on the whole thing.
