Default Twin Peaks belt change

Me again.. Great forum... it helps to get answers from like minded people... My belt light came on last night. I just hit 1100 miles and about 138 hours of run time. The manual said the belt would give out sooner so I have one on hand. Is changing this belt difficult? Any advice or tips to make sure I don’t mess it up? Do you have to replace the switch for the light or can I disconnect it and not worry about it.

I ride rough hilly trails and like to stomp on the throttle as often as I can. I figure that style of riding wears out the belt quicker than if I just putt around. Anyone have some frequency information? Am I on track or am I beating up my machine?

This forum has some pretty good info and tips on that type of stuff. Not positive they will have exactly what you are looking for, but it is worth a look. Just join, and then click on tech tips. Make sure you remember to click on Kawasaki Prairie. They will not have a section for the Twin Peaks. The Prairie and Twin Peaks are identical machines.
