Default Suzuki Eiger 4x4 Manual Transmission Question?

I have a 2006 Suzuki Eiger Manual Trans. It is stuck in 4 wheel drive. Is there anything i can try to get it out? I had just purchased this and dont know alot about them. All I know is that It is stuck. All 4 wheels are turning even though the lever is in 2 wheel drive. Thanks!

Default Suzuki Eiger 4x4 Manual Transmission Question?

I had this problem on mine and it was an adjustment on the cable that moves it from 4x4 to 2x4. While I was researching I found out that there is also a piece of plastic in the 4x4 lever that can break and if it does the lever will not pull it out of 4x4.

I would check these two things first. These are very basic, therefore pretty rock sold, machines. I have 1500 miles on mine and have had only basic issues that where easily fixed.

it was easy to get to. There was a rubber cover that you had to roll up and then there where two bolts. Loosen one then tighten the other to adjust the cable. Follow the cable to see the other end so you can see if it is moving. Roll the rubber protective cover back down and it was done.

Default Suzuki Eiger 4x4 Manual Transmission Question?

We checked the adjustment on the 4x4 cable.. Its adjusted as far as it will go. It wont come out of 4 wheel drive. We loosened the bolt by the 4 wheel drive lever on the handlebars and it worked.. Im thinking we are going to have to repalce the whole cable?? Or can we just replace it where the adjuster is?? I dont think the bolt that hooks to the lever is supposed to be loosened that much, like we have it now.

I am not sure if you have to replace the entire cable, I only had to adjust mine and it has been working. If you adjusted it and it is not working, I would replace it to be safe. Can't image a cable is that expensive but I have not priced it so I am not sure.

are you talking about shifting on the move or from a standstill when you have it revved up?
